About TriYogaDude

An avid Triathlete and Mindful Yogi & Yoga Teacher.

I ran track in grade school and played soccer and ran cross-country in high school.   After 27 years of smoking, started in high school, I quit on January 4, 2004 and took up running, again. This was a long road back but well worth it.  I moved from the nicotine addiction to the running addiction training for races from 5K to Marathons.

After I began to experience injuries, I did not understand cross training, I turned to yoga for body balance.  After 2 years of yoga 101 in a gym environment I moved to a studio that focused on Anusara (alignment based).  During this time I also began competing in local triathlons which gave me the cross training balance.

After 7 years of practicing yoga I decided to enter yoga teacher training.  After the first training day I was ready to quit.  But rather than run from, I sucked it up and in 2013 completed my 200 hour training and registered with Yoga Alliance.  I taught my first class on July 6, 2013 and continue to teach group classes, (Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin, Hatha, privates, and workshops. And give advice when requested and also when not. 🙂

I still run and bike and swim continuing to find the competitive drive but doing so with mindfulness, awareness of breath, and training with a mind toward meditation.
